Youth Worker working what a Youth Worker works

It’s often hard to define Youth Workers by their work. We have to wear many hats (or many #muddyshoes) depending on the context, young people’s needs, or our organisational needs. But I’d say that Passion is one of our Superpowers and with Passion we manage to do everything we need.

Romania has to move back online for a while, and that includes workshops - a teamwork workshop, to be more specific. When Bibi asked who can get involved for some tech and facilitation support, I was first in line. I am a huge fan of digital and hybrid youth work, but because there aren’t too many tools nor much research on this, I jump at every opportunity to learn by doing.

So, for a good half a day, today I researched and adapted some teamwork exercises, refreshed my memory about the roles people can play in a team, the stages of forming a team, and how to teamwork efficiently, and I’ve put them all into a nice chaotic document that will turn into a proper workshop plan tomorrow. And this is one of the things a Youth Worker works.
