Work from the library

Tuesdays are dedicated to uni. Today, for example, I had to add a few things to the ethics request form and then I worked on my novel for Novel Writing.

Before falling asleep a couple of nights ago, I started imagining the main characters.

M— /Michaela (f., 19)

B— /Brock (m., 22)

R— /Rachel (f., 34, youth worker)

I’m not sure if I want to use full names or just initials and I’m open to suggestions in the comments if you want to help me decide.

I will use multiple perspectives and each character will have their own personal story arch, and a role in the overall plot. Young people + Youth worker against ‘THE SYSTEM’ that discriminates against youth in the worst possible way. Real-life, but extreme, basically.

The different bits in the novel are starting to make sense and connect with each other. I have a world, I have protagonists living in this world, I have stories for each of them, and I have a plot. I don’t know how to open the novel yet, but I know that each section will start with a news announcement and then go into the different perspectives. I know what will happen in each part of the novel. I have the plan, the structure. The next step will be to write the 1000-word summary and then to develop it into a full novel. It’s really exciting!
