We found a skate park!

A while ago, while on the bus, Jeanine and I noticed a skate park very close to our house (10 - 15 minute walk). Right away, we decided we must visit someday, but it was late autumn, the weather was starting to get bad, and the lockdown was approaching. Today we went out for a walk on a quest to find the skate park. And we did!

Back in 2010, the first DEIS (RO) volunteers were skaters and bikers. The troublemakers. After spending some time in this skate park, here in Charlton Park, and a brief interaction with some of the youngsters, it is pretty clear that DEIS UK will also begin and grow with people like these. The troublemakers.

My youth worker brain already started looking for ways to set up a concert near the skate park. And I can’t wait, I can’t wait!, to start doing things here.
