(un)Learning to be a couch potato
I lived over 20 years believing that I'm a couch potato. I read, I write, I sometimes stand to facilitate a workshop, but overall I do stuff that doesn't require energy consumption. But then, after lockdown, I started to notice that my posture isn't as good, my abdomen could be better...
So, I started Yoga. And going for walks. Now I'm trying to add one more type of workout every week or every other week. I tried Pilates last week. This week I tried Core Conditioning - a more intensity kind of exercise. My endurance is very low and I tire easily, but it's okay, I'll get better.
I'm still not a sporty person and I will never be. My favourite activities are still centered around books, computers, desks, plus young people. But that won't stop me from building a routine that includes exercises my body, besides my mind and feelings.
