Time to restock the fridge
The period between Christmas and New Year’s is a strange concept. Humans live on leftovers and unplanned meals that consist of random combinations from the fridge. Nothing makes sense. Time isn’t real.
So, on the 2nd of Jan, when reality starts creeping back, you realise that you don’t have anything to eat, not really. You don’t even have milk, bread, or ham. I scavenged for some breakfast, made myself some tea, read for a while, and then I went shopping. It was sunny and pleasant outside so the walk was a very relaxing experience. I’m happy. Our fridge is also happy now, filled with the usual foods, in the right places, instead of 10.000 ingredients stuffed somewhere.
I plan to read for the rest of the day. I need a bit more time before I can reconnect with reality and be productive again.
