When I read this book in November 2020 I didn’t really get it. It was the first time I was actually studying Sci-Fi. Since then, I learned that dystopian literature and science fiction are re-tellings of the anxiety their authors and the contemporary public was experiencing at the time. Since then, fiction is becoming more and more real…
My hometown of Baia Mare is in the county of Maramureș. Maramureș county has a border with Ukraine. Ukraine, where this modern war of the worlds is happening with a species of Martians created by ignorance. I was shocked to learn (or rather, to be reminded) that tension
between Russia and Ukraine has been building up since 2014. 2014. 8 years ago. 8. EIGHT.
And to me, this whole mess points a finger at one big, big problem that we, as a global culture, have. PREVENTION or at least EARLY INTERVENTION. No such thing. No such thing for young people, for diseases, for wars. We let it all rot until it blows the hell up. And then it’s too late.
Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the

Sky?
