The first steps towards DEIS UK

I used to envision this moment years and years from now - bringing DEIS to the UK. But in February 2020 I joined a not-for-profit here in London, Collab Training Academy. And thanks to Maurice Thaw (founder & CEO) I had the opportunity to grow and learn about business development, life in the UK, and others. Today I had my first meeting with him to discuss DEIS UK and how to set it up.

Having support and guidance is extremely important. Without Maurice’s help, we would be lost among company types and how to register the organisation. As a young person, with little to no experience in this entire ‘legal’ area, it would have taken me years to figure everything out. The cool thing is also that the goal at Collab is to turn this into a programme that other people can sign up for and Collab would offer the coaching & mentoring you need along the way.

Now, the next steps with DEIS UK are for Jeanine and me to start researching the details and put together the Business Plan. I can’t wait to see this dream materialise. It’s simply amazing.
