Somehow…

Somehow I feel like I’m reading more for my MA in Anthropology than I was reading for my BA in LITERATURE. It’s probably not true, because we used to discuss a couple of books per week and I’d always read them a lot before they were actually ‘due’. Now, on the other hand, we have specific readings for every week - e.g. articles, book chapters etc. - so my reading needs to be more structured. Plus, I didn’t have the reading list prior to starting classes. Worry not, I’m taking things week by week and at some point, I’ll probably manage to start reading in advance.

Today I realised that I am starting to get back into my usual reading rhythm. I know what the focus is in each class for next week and I know how the texts are used in practice. It’s definitely a learning curve and that’s exactly why I’m sharing all of this with you, dear readers. It takes time to adapt to things, so if it’s not all perfect from the beginning, don’t beat yourself up. Be patient and reflective. Think about what’s changed and what you need to improve. You’ll get where you need to!
