Shoes of a happy (online) youth worker

Today I was a happy online youth worker once again. I talked to some awesome young people from Maramureș about the important things in their lives, their post-covid plans, their needs, and, of course, what they want/can do for their peers. There are loads of amazing thoughts and conclusions.

This consultation happened simultaneously in all 41 counties in Romania. In total, there were 1350 young people signed up for the event. Now all facilitators will have to write a report, and the results will be used in Romania’s National Youth Strategy.

I have to tell you, I am a very strong supporter of co-creating everything with young people. They know best what they need, what works for them, and how to do things. As a youth worker, I’m here to support youth, not to make decisions based on what I think is right for them. And facilitating opportunities that encourage youth to speak up is one thing that makes me really and genuinely happy.
