Reading about youth work!
I love to read and I love youth work. I also love learning whether it’s through theory or through my/other people’s experiences. This book combines all of the above. You can imagine how happy this book makes me!
Currently reading: ‘Grassroots Youth Work: Policy, Passion, and Resistance in Practice’ by Tania de St Croix
This book is meant to amplify the voices of grassroots-level youth workers, something that I am constantly encouraging and doing. I’m learning about how youth work works (or doesn’t work) in England. It is somewhat disheartening, seeing that there is a bigger focus on quantity rather than quality… But it’s people like the author and even myself - activists, I guess - who may make a change. Here’s another piece of motivation for me.
