Play Cafe - Life Skills
When was the last time I mentioned that I adore consultation events? My favourite method is the world cafe, but anything that involves asking young people what they think about stuff is amazing. Add a bit of a workshop session and it’s a perfect event. This is Play Cafe. A series of youth engagement events on different topics.
Today we talked about life skills - what they mean for young people, which ones they have, which ones they do not have yet, and how they would like to acquire them. We started with a living library-style activity (I was one of the books) and then we went on to… consult our participants. According to chatGPT, the main life skills are communication, decision-making, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, healthy lifestyle, digital literacy, self-management, and resilience. But are they still relevant for young people nowadays? Some are, some are not. It was so nice to talk about them!
I’m super excited for next week! There will be so much happening.
