Personal Statement ✔

I did it! I wrote my personal statement for the MA Applied Anthropology, Youth & Community Work at Goldsmiths University.

I’ve been postponing this for too long, so today I sat down in the library at uni and said to myself I’m not getting up before this is done. Once I got started, it was easy. But now that I’m finished, I feel strange. It’s a mix of excitement, pride, a bit of fear, and surprise. I had to recap my life and achievements, pick the most relevant experience, but (this is the strange bit) I didn’t even have to think about it. I knew. This happened when I was writing my undergrad statement too. I know myself very well and that is very much thanks to my beloved youth workers from home.

I sent the first draft to one of my profs for feedback. I hope I’ll manage to apply before December, but if I don’t, I’m confident I’ll be able to apply before Christmas.
