Open window and fresh air

I come from a little town surrounded by forests and mountains and so the air is supposed to be clean (at least if you compare it to a metropolis). Well, London has much fresher air than Baia Mare.

This might be due to the efforts to expand Ultra Low Emission Zones, for example, where vehicles that don’t meet certain standards need to pay larger fees. Or it might be thanks to all the friendly signs and campaigns that encourage you to be eco-friendly or keep parks and forests clean. And, also, because authorities monitor all these things to ensure that the community follows the rules.

I will use this opportunity, therefore, to invite you to the European Youth Climate Pact page on Facebook. It’s an initiative started by a group of young people from Baia Mare to support Europe’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. I hope that in 30 years, life in my home town will be at least as ecological as life in London today.
