Onto the next book

D.H. Lawrence’s ‘The Plumed Serpent’ was part of the creepy and/or disturbing book bundle that I received from J on Christmas. When we went for the photoshoot on Saturday, I picked it at random because it looked old and was originally published in 1926. The note left by J inside the book says ‘This has a CULT or something along those lines’.

Many (probably 4) years ago I read ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ and I absolutely loved it. In fact, my end of high school/college project for my English class was about this book, plus Gaskell’s ‘North and South’ and Woolf’s ‘Mrs Dalloway’. It was titled ‘The North, the South, and the Ladies Inbetween’.

Anyway, after Lady Chatterley, I have high hopes for this novel. So far, I’m intrigued by this one as well. Let’s see what is it about that cult and ‘Kate Leslie, a widow with a mind of her own’ (as mentioned in the blurb).
