Off they go

It’s nice to let go of routine and do something else for a few days and it’s also nice to be a tourist in your own city - which is exactly how I feel when my parents are here. It’s almost as if I’m a kid and we’re going on holiday. Just that now I am the one who (supposedly) knows where we need to go and how to get there.

My parents are on the plane now, going back to their own little home, where Viva the Dog is patiently waiting for them (I just saw her on the camera that Tati set up to guard the house). I finished writing another dissertation chapter. Life returns to normal tomorrow - work, reading, writing, meetings, shopping, cooking. The usual.

The next official parent visit will be in July when I should have my graduation ceremony. I might take a trip home before that too. In the meantime, Skype is the Konyves-es’ best friend.
