No sleep for the Youth Workers

Here’s how I did not expect to pass from yesterday to today: writing on a funding bid for the European Solidarity Corps. This was the first time I pulled an all-nighter for this reason. Before, in my volunteering experience, I pulled half-an-all-nighter writing applications for the Romanian Youth Gala and a full all-nighter translating an episode of Urban Context (that was my first).

It all started when Bibi asked me if I managed to write anything on how the project fits ESC’s priorities. It was 1 am (UK time), I wasn’t sleeping, and wasn’t feeling sleepy, we were waiting for a package from our parents, so Jeanine and I got to work. I was writing some sections, Bibi was writing others, Jeanine was spell checking. All of a sudden, the sun is rising and the birds are chirping.

To be honest, I don’t even feel tired, but I certainly feel happy. Bibi was saying that I achieved the next Youth Worker level now. This was a passing rite.
