More life updates!

October always happens to be one of the busiest months for me. I had a feeling that this year wasn’t going to be any different - with me starting my MA, knowing that we’ll be going to Bristol etc. - so that’s why I decided not to do a full month Spooky Season Special on the blog. My feeling was very correct.

This week I’m starting work as part of a project run by Goldsmiths Students Union (my MA uni). My job title is Peer Facilitator and I’ll be working with a small team to deliver workshops and organise events in a campaign against sexual violence. I’ll be facilitating Active Bystander Training, hence the badge in the pic. Basically, it’s all about teaching students and the wider community what to do if they witness an incident to support the victim. This is a very general overview of what I’ll be doing and, as usual, more details will be coming as I’m doing things.

I’m very excited to get going. I always loved facilitating and sexual violence is something that I’ve often explored in my writing. So far, my new colleagues are absolutely lovely. I met everyone today. I’ve got training on Friday and next week, which I’m really looking forward to doing.
