I just finished ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’ (as planned) and I am struck but how cleverly it has been written. The reader was given loads of clues - maybe more clues than Poirot - and the criminal was right in front of you all this time. It was similar to ‘A High Mortality of Doves’ by Kate Ellis - or rather, AHMoD was similar to TMoRA.

Anyway, as I was saying a few days ago, I loved the TV series done after Agatha Christie’s Poirot stories. But one thing is bothering me - a lot of what is written down in this book constitutes clues for the reader. Emphasis on ‘written down’. And I can’t seem to wrap my head around the way it’s been adapted for TV.

I found the episode on a streaming service that I can access through my uni (Box of Broadcasts) so now I shall see. I remember the series was very good so I don’t expect to be disappointed. It might not be exactly like the book, but I learned to appreciate the differences. Let’s compare!
