Let’s call this ‘behind-the-scenes prep for the workshop’

I told you that I am reading about writing these days. The workshop is 90% prepped - I’m still debating whether or not I want to put some slides together as well - but I feel like I need to shape my writer-self better. As a technical person, having some of my beliefs validated by some of my favourite authors is quite crucial.

I was gonna read Cristina Nemerovschi’s book on the plane to Romania. It’s done already. I was also thinking that I’ll read Stephen King’s ‘On Writing’ on the plane, but I can’t stop, so I don’t think it’ll make it up in the clouds. The next option is another book by Cristina, fiction about a wanna-be writer.

Back to King… His writing advice is the most down-to-earth, common-sense thing I’ve ever read. That explains why I always resonate with his books and absolutely adore his style - he knows what he’s doing. As a writer, you gotta know what you’re doing, you can’t just let a muse whisper in your ear. Every part of me agrees with this book.
