I didn't tell y'all about the book I'm listening to
As a teen I really enjoyed Twilight. I was aware that the film itself wasn't a masterpiece, but it had a certain appeal. I used to have a rule - either book or film, so I never actually read any of the Twilight books. But I might now!
As I was looking for an audiobook, I came across "Midnight Sun" - Twilight from Edward's perspective. I've seen this book in charity shops multiple times, always thought I'd like to buy it, but never did. I have to say, Stephanie Meyer is not a bad author. I had some mixed feelings at the beginning, but then I remembered that, at its core, this is YA Fantasy. So, I settled into its world, suspended my disbelief, and it's really fun to listen to.
There are some differences between the film and the book (including the way Bella reveals that she knows the Cullens are vampires), but it really doesn't bother me. I also like book-Bella a bit more - bookworm, clumsy, mature-for-her-age etc. Characters like hers were probably the reason I enjoyed vampire stories so much.
