Happiness is...

… spending two hours talking to awesome teenagers, answering their questions regarding school, family, and the future.

A few weeks ago I was invited by my former Maths Teacher to talk to a few students at the school where she’s now the principal. Today I went to speak to them and a few others again. We started to talk about writing, but after a while, they became more and more comfortable and started to open up about all sorts of challenges they’re facing.

The fact that these teenagers (and preteens) looked up to us and trusted that our words can actually help them was, for me, a revelation. This was a lesson for me and it’s also a promise to myself. I don’t want to disappoint these amazing young people!
