Halfway through the book

I'm enjoying these stories but they are so hard to get through. I can't read more than two or three in one sitting. The main reason is the old clunky language. But also the short stories require a lot more mental commitment to get into their world - while with novels you can tale dozens of pages to settle in, here you've got to do it within the first few paragraphs.

I'm hoping to finish this book by next week. I took time to read today (for a very necessary battery-recharge) and I'm hoping to be able to do the same in the next few days too. I have other stuff that I wanna read this October!! 🎃👻
