Digital Team & Youth Work

It’s times like these when I’m grateful that Tati taught me to be tech-savvy since childhood. I was born with a computer in my house and tech was always a friend but also a colleague, we use it for leisure but we also use it for work. Learning the basics of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as a kid plus some basic troubleshooting is what makes it so easy for me to use many digital tools.

Today I assisted Bibi and Vlad to facilitate an online workshop on teamwork. I helped them with some Canva presentations, a Jamboard, and a Menti poll. I also researched a few nonformal exercises that we could use. Today I shared my screen from my laptop and actively participated from my tablet.

As a result of this experience, I can now word something about myself as a youth worker or facilitator. I strive to combine the physical with the digital and thus diminish my impact on the environment as well. When I’ll have my own training room at the DEIS UK Hub, I want to have tablets for all participants and a projector or a smartboard. I want to use as little paper as possible. I kill too many trees for my books anyway.
