Caught by the book
I was curious about this book from the very beginning. I didn't know what to expect. Half-way through, it caught me. There is so much going on, it's very fast paced, and things can go horribly wrong right now. Knowing Stephen King I know for a fact that they will. But how bad is it going to be?
I do have a couple of dislikes about this book, though. There are some scenes with army people that I cannot follow - too many names that mean nothing to me, mentions of things that happened but aren't narrated, and some ealry 2000s American politics that I don't understand. I skim through those chapters and move on. Also, there's a character, Duddits, that seems very important but has done nothing impressive so far.
Wikipedia just revealed that in 2014, King told Rolling Stone that "I don't like Dreamcatcher very much". I get him. I'm invested, but it could've been better.
