Busy Business Day

Today started at 6.45 AM. In fact, I woke up at 6 AM, but the first activity of the day started at 6.45 AM. I went to a Business Network International (BNI UK) event. I have to be honest, at first, it was really intimidating to be a 20-year-old in a room full of super experienced business people. But they’re all just humans. They were all 20 at some point in their lives.

I had 60 seconds to talk about Collab and impress them. Four people reached out to me, so I’d say it was not a bad first time. I think it’s also safe to say I enjoy networking. I don’t know if I expected this or not (I don’t think I ever thought about it this way), but I really enjoy these events. And really, I have Maurice to thank for introducing me to networking. I would’ve never thought about doing this otherwise - I didn’t even know what networking was before joining Collab.

Then this day continued with meetings and more meetings. Tiresome. But rewarding.

What I’ll do next is get back to translating a Counselling Toolkit for Youth Workers. Productive reading, as I like to call it.
