Books outside and (e)Books inside

If yesterday was all sunny and warm, today is all rainy and humid. I wouldn’t mind walking outside if I had to because it’s still quite pleasant, but I’d much rather stay inside with a cup of tea and read.

Since I already finished the (physical) book I had started yesterday, I could easily go back to the eBook - ‘Snow Crash’. I read exactly 67% of the text and I would hope to get to the end of it in the next week or so. I don’t know if it’s because I’m reading it digitally or not, but I feel that this book is a bit too long. The story is great, I’m invested, intrigued, and curious to see what comes next, but something doesn’t let me advance quickly enough. It might also be that there are many new elements in its universe that require explanation so the narrative has to pause frequently.

A few years ago, I might have given up on this book already. Not now, though. Now I’m thinking about its strengths and flaws, focusing on understanding techniques, and therefore trying to perfect my own. One thing I realised powering through ‘Snow Crash’ - the Anthropology side of my MA will be really helpful in my writing career.
