‘An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practice in Youth Work’

Every time I put my youth work shoes on, my levels of happiness skyrocket. I am a happy person by default, but when it comes to youth work, I’m simply beaming.

Today I attended a workshop - an introduction to trauma-informed practice in youth work - hosted by London Youth. I was mesmerised by everything I learned. I probably knew some of the concepts or ideas, but now they were put into context. It was interactive and even though it was a heavy topic, the trainer made it so easy to grasp. For me, it isn’t always easy to understand how trauma operates and how to address triggers or certain behaviours - partly because of my own personality, partly because I’m not that experienced yet - but now I know I have a good base to build on.

I have to admit, I’m a doer, a practical person, but I love to have some theory to rely on. Maurice & Collab, thank you so much for the opportunity to join this session through your membership! It was one of those where I felt my growth and my development instantly. Thank you!
