Always by the river

Somehow, whenever V has a day off and the weather is as fine as it was today and we go out for a walk (and a shop) we end up by the river. This time we went to the North bank via the Woolwich foot tunnel.

Probably one of the reasons I love South-East London (and especially the Borough of Greenwich) is the river and how beautiful it is to walk alongside it. Water was always an interesting element for me. I don’t know how to swim at all, so I have a certain respect for it, I fear it, but I’m also curious. Water attracts me. It’s mysterious. It’s also homely. We don’t have mountains here in London, but my hometown has a river too. How I wish I could walk like this on its banks…
