About the book I didn’t get to tell you about
I read this novel while the parents were visiting and I finished it before I even got the chance to write about it. But today I booked a glass pod at uni and had a really lovely interview with the author herself for my dissertation. So let me tell you about ‘The Sin Eater’s Daughter’.
In my early teens, I fell in love with YA and Fantasy (and Horror) and oh my, my how I wish I knew about this book in 2015 when it was first published. At its core, I read it as a book about that moment when you’re a pre-teen, you’re confused, and every little bit of your world turns into chaos. You can understand that teenage-Bea and youth worker-Bea were happily dancing as I read.
After reading YA and Fantasy for a good few years, you realise that the stories are repetitive and can predict pretty much everything. And it happens to me a lot so, even if I do enjoy someone’s writing, I end up kinda disappointed. NOT WITH THIS BOOK. The ending! The plot twists! All my expectations were shattered in the best possible ways!
