A moment to breathe in a chaotic day
I don't even know what happened today. It was one thing after another and another. Meetings, an outreach session for the Active Bystander Training, brainstorming projects within the project. In the meantime, J was sorting out #reconnect music Christmas edition. Chaos.
But I found a moment to breathe. 40 minutes in which I could sit and read. And the introduction to this edition of "The Wizard of Oz" was perfect. The intro was written by Cornelia Funke and she talks about watching the film as a kid, only to discover much later that it was based on a book, and reading it as "a so-called adult". Same. And then she says:
"So, open the book and start travelling through the pages. It will be quite a journey, and you won't come back the way you started, which is true for all journeys, especially written ones."
Those 40 minutes of reading were a perfect oasis of calm in a very busy day. For 40 minutes I escaped into another land. That's why I love reading.
