A little appreciation post

This post is to thank DEIS Ro for always welcoming me and trusting me to (youth) work every time I come home. To me, it means so much to be able to give back right where I received all the tools for my personal and professional development. Thank you, Bibi and Diana, for empowering me and for every piece of feedback. And thank you for allowing me to do my first placement with you. Here I am, almost 7 years after joining DEIS, practicing towards a postgraduate level Youth Work qualification.

I also want to thank all the DEIS volunteers and the youth centre members for making me feel so welcome these two weeks and for trusting me. You're all so amazing. I've learned a lot from you and with you. Don't let anyone ever tell you that you're not good enough - your teachers, parents, or even yourselves.

I know I don't get to spend enough time with you all and if I could, I would teleport here every day. Even so, I want you all to know that I'm always one text or one call away if you need anything. I'd love to hear from you more often. The volunteers already know that I'm always around on the group chats.

As always, when it comes to my youth work, I'm tired, but happy. You can't do this without being passionate. It's not an easy "job", being there for young people when so many others turn their backs on them. You know, "with great power comes great responsibility". But if your heart is in the right place, you'll feel so happy when you reach the conclusion and add up your joys.

So... Yeah. Thank you. It's been a pleasure and I'll see you all again soon. ❤️⚡
