A book to carry around
While I (fairly quickly) power through the 685 pages book I mentioned the other day*, I needed something smaller that I could carry around with me. So I decided to go for one of my Romanian detective novels featuring Minerva, the Maths teacher turned agent for the ‘securitate’ aka secret police. It actually fits in my bag!
I was out for a bit yesterday and started it. One interesting thing about prose in general and detective fiction, in particular, is that it takes me a long time to get through the introduction. I like to take in every little detail and get comfortable in the book world before I can read at my usual speed. This is why in almost 2 hours yesterday I barely read 24 pages. It’s going to be an easy read from now on, though.
By the way, I also have a fantasy novel in audiobook format borrowed from the library, but I’m still trying to form an opinion about it. I’ll let you all know about it in the next few days.
