A bit of reading (and hopefully more reading later and tomorrow)

Reading children’s books as an adult is quite fun. They’re easy and quick, but as an adult and English Lit graduate, you can see more into the characters and the plot. It’s even more interesting if the book is also a film that you’ve watched and rewatched many times as a kid, and the book is like an in-depth retelling of that.

I watched ‘The Wizard of Oz’ many many times. I even named one of my toy puppies Toto - it was black and had pearly eyes. I’ll see if I can find a pic and post it somewhere. Reading the book is definitely an experience. I haven’t seen the film in ages, so I forgot many of the details and moments. I just read a scene and then I had to ask my parents if that’s in the film too. Apparently, it was.

I’m planning to finish the book today or tomorrow and maybe rewatch the film. Then I have a collection of Christmas stories as well as a kid’s Christmas novel that I rescued from the streets on a rainy day → my festive reads this year. I’ll start with the stories because I can leave the book unfinished when I go to Romania. I’m starting to have second thoughts about the novel I wanted to read on the plane, but we’ll see what I end up taking with me.

P.S. Here's Toto!
