3. ‘A Christmas Tree’ by Charles Dickens

I got to uni a little earlier today and went on a Christmas Tree hunt for today’s Muddy Shoes. I found this pretty conifer right outside Greenwich Market.

I left uni a little earlier today and went to meet with Maurice, in the role of a business mentor. It was such an empowering and helpful conversation. I find it hard to schedule these meetings because I know how much work we’ve to do as Collab, but I always go away with so much food for thought and so many ideas. I’m so grateful for this support!

I wasn’t a big Dickens fan. I gave up reading ‘A Christmas Carol’ many years ago and then ‘Great Expectations’ in my first year at uni. But I am a more professional reader now and I finally understand the magic of Dickens. I was instantly transported into his world, from the very first paragraph, and I wasn’t allowed to leave it until the very last paragraph. It also reminded me of Christmas at home with my family and friends.

It gave me inspiration for this year’s Christmas article - “...what do we all remember best upon the branches of the Christmas Tree of our own young Christmas days, by which we climbed to real life”.
